The North Suburban Chicago Delphi Meetup Group Message Board › Stepping Down as Delphi Meetup Organizer

Hello everyone, I have decided to step down as this Delphi Groups meetup organizer. I enjoyed meeting with all of you and talking about Delphi, but my recent project intrests are pulling me in different directions such as Ruby, PHP, and AJAX web development.
Does this mean I am leaving Delphi all together. No way. Delphi is still a great tool and language and I will use it to develop any standalone desktop applications. And if someone takes over as organizer, you may just see me at some meetings. But I wanted to focus most of my attention and time on my new project. As you may have noticed, their have been few meetings lately. This is due to demands from my new job and from other intrests. So in order to better serve this group, I am stepping down as organizer and allowing someone else to fill that spot. Any of you may become the organizer by subscribing to meetup.com and paying the monthly organizer fees. But please give this some thought and make sure that it is something that you can dedicate time to. Thanks to everyone and I look forward to keeping in touch with you all. Jeff...
You and I were there to start things, so I'd like to input in on this... If they don't wish to, I'd be willing to take the mantle and carry it for a while.... First few meetings were at my office location ,then we moved to holding the meetings at Porter Lee for a while now (since they offered and their location was much nicer... :-) Since the guys at Porter Lee have been shouldering the burden of hosting the meetings at their location, I would not feel it proper to step in to this role (and start making decisions in this role) until we first see if they wish to assume this responsibility. Let's see who else wants to join in this discussion before any decisions are made... If Porter Lee doesn't want this, and nobody else has a better idea (or objects), I'll go ahead and assume this by November 1, 2008. Best Regards, -Kevin Simmers- |
